Origin
Stromer is the pioneering Swiss speed-pedelec brand (founded 2009, now part of the myStromer AG group near Bern). The ST3 launched in 2018 as the mid-tier model of the ST family, slotting between the ST1 and the flagship ST5. It introduced the connected OMNI platform with a built-in SIM card, bringing always-on GPS tracking, anti-theft Smartlock and over-the-air firmware updates to a 45 km/h commuter bike.

The verdict
+Strengths
- Very quiet, smooth and powerful gearless hub motor with seamless 45 km/h assist
- Excellent braking — 203 mm quad/dual-piston TRP discs plus regenerative braking
- Deep connected-bike tech: built-in SIM, GPS theft recovery, Smartlock, OTA updates, app tuning
- Genuine long-distance range with up to 983 Wh battery (claimed 180 km), removable for charging
- Premium fit-and-finish: integrated cabling, Pirelli moped-rated tires, strong integrated lights
−Weaknesses
- Heavy at ~32 kg (more with suspension fork or Pinion), awkward to lift or carry
- Expensive — roughly €7,000+ / $7,499, with the suspension fork adding ~$1,000
- Top-tube touchscreen sits out of natural line of sight, is small and prone to glare
- Stiff aluminium frame transmits harsh road buzz on rough/cobbled surfaces (no rear suspension)
- App/software gaps: no live speedometer dashboard or map-based range, and heavy reliance on the smartphone ecosystem; non-waterproof USB port and connectivity glitches reported
