Origin
The Roadster is Riese & Müller's lightest, slimmest urban e-bike line, conceived as a sporty alternative to bulky utility e-bikes — a sleek frame reminiscent of a classic bicycle while delivering German-engineered Bosch power. The Roadster4 is the fourth generation, updated to the Bosch Smart System with the Performance Line CX motor and connected eBike Flow app, GPS tracking and over-the-air updates.

The verdict
+Strengths
- Powerful, responsive Bosch Performance Line CX motor (85 Nm) with the connected Smart System (GPS, eBike Lock/Alarm, OTA updates).
- Lightweight, slim and agile for a premium e-bike — easy to handle and weave through city traffic.
- High-quality component spec: Shimano Deore XT or Enviolo belt drive, Magura hydraulic discs, Schwalbe Marathon Supreme tires.
- Comfort without bulk thanks to suspension fork plus suspension seatpost.
- Versatile range: diamond and Mixte frames, derailleur or maintenance-free belt, plus 45 km/h HS speed options.
−Weaknesses
- Very high price (from ~$7,100 / £4,349, up to ~$8,400 for HS), premium-tier only.
- Vario belt-drive models can require a 3-4 week build/lead time.
- Limited color options depending on the frame style chosen.
- Still ~23.5-25 kg — light for an e-bike but heavy to carry up stairs compared with a regular bicycle.
- Only front suspension; rougher surfaces transmit more than a full-suspension model.
