+Достоинства
  • Genuine high-end stopping power — measurably more outright braking force than any 2-piston brake and competitive with SRAM Code RSC and Shimano Saint
  • Tech 4 lever provides claimed 30% more power for same hand effort vs Tech 3 — significantly reduces finger fatigue on long descents
  • Tool-free reach and bite-point adjustment dials — both adjustable on the trail without any tools, unlike Magura MT5 (tool-required reach) and similar to SRAM RSC
  • CNC-machined aluminium caliper resists corrosion and damage indefinitely — survives rock strikes that would crack composite calipers
  • Lifetime serviceable — every internal part replaceable by user with standard tools, spare parts available indefinitely from Hope
  • Seven factory anodized colours — strong visual identity, matches across Hope's full component range (hubs, headsets, etc.)
  • DOT 5.1 fluid is widely available at any auto parts shop globally — no specialist bike-specific fluid required like Magura Royal Blood
  • Made in UK with full provenance and traceability — appeals to riders who value Western European manufacture
  • Master cylinder design is hose-mounted not bar-mounted — gives clean cockpit, easy bar swaps without re-bleeding
  • Two-piece floating rotor design dissipates heat better than one-piece rotors — reduces warping under sustained DH use
Недостатки
  • Very expensive — €330-400 per brake puts it 2-3x the price of Magura MT5, and roughly 30% more than SRAM Code RSC for similar performance
  • DOT 5.1 fluid is hygroscopic — absorbs water from atmosphere over time, requires annual bleed for active use (vs Magura mineral oil 2-year intervals)
  • DOT fluid damages paint if spilled — must be careful during bleed to avoid frame contact (Magura mineral oil is paint-safe)
  • Heavy for a high-end brake (~295g) — Shimano XT 4-piston is ~30g lighter per brake at higher OEM availability
  • Limited OEM availability — almost no major bike brands spec Hope as stock, so almost always an aftermarket purchase
  • Anodizing can fade with UV exposure over years (5+ years of outdoor storage) — cosmetic only but visible
  • Bleed procedure is more involved than Magura's single-screw EBT — requires syringe at one end and catch bottle at the other, ~10-15 min per brake (vs 5-10 for Magura)
  • Pad availability in smaller markets can be a problem — generic V4 pads (Galfer, EBC, MTX) often only available via online order
  • Lever throw under sustained heat can wander slightly more than Shimano Servo-Wave — not catastrophic but noticeable on extended DH
  • No factory motor-cutoff sensor integration — for e-MTB requiring this (Bosch, Brose, Shimano EP), must use stock brake instead
