Getting started

URBALT is a Baltic micromobility marketplace and community. You can browse listings without an account, but posting, chatting, and using the community require a free account.

Your first visit — cookie banner

The very first time you land on URBALT, a banner slides up from the bottom asking for your cookie preferences. Three quick options:

  • Accept all — the easy default if you're comfortable with us counting visits anonymously.
  • Only essential — keeps the site working (login, language, theme) but turns off analytics and everything else.
  • Customize — pick category by category.

You can change your mind anytime via Cookie settings in the footer. Full details on the Privacy & cookies page.

Create an account

  1. Click Log In / Register in the top-right.
  2. Sign up with email and password, or use Google sign-in for faster setup.
  3. Confirm your email — we send a one-time link. This is the baseline EMAIL verification tier.

Verification tiers

Each tier unlocks more trust. Badges appear on your listings and profile.

  • EMAIL — confirmed email (every account).
  • GOOGLE — signed in via Google.
  • PHONE — confirmed phone number (stronger signal for buyers).
  • ID — personal code verified (Estonian isikukood, more coming). Highest personal trust level.
  • SHOP — verified business / vendor. Shown as a business storefront.

Complete your profile

A full profile unlocks everything on URBALT. Required fields are marked with a *:

  • Identity * — Rider 🚴 (bikes), Glider 🛴 (scooters / e-mobility), or Walker 🚶 (no bike yet / here to watch). You need this to join the community (post, like, comment). You can switch it any time.
  • First name *, Last name *, Date of birth * — required before you post a listing. Only your age is shown to others, the date itself stays private.
  • Username / Display name * — this is how other members see you in the community and on your listings. Hint from the form: "How others see you in the community."
  • Country *, plus Region * and City * when your country is covered by our library (EE, LV, LT, FI, SE, DE, PL, NO, DK). For these countries you pick from a dropdown; for any other country you type freely.
  • isikukood (optional) — Estonian personal code for the ID verification badge. Validated by checksum, no uploads.

Fill these in at /panel/profile. New user flow, in order: identity → profile details → first listing.

Profile photo

Your profile photo is shown next to your listings, messages and community posts — it's the fastest way for other members to recognise you. Uploading one is optional but strongly recommended.

  1. Go to /panel/settings — the Profile photo section is at the top of the page.
  2. Click Upload photo (or Change photo if you already have one). Pick a file from your phone's camera or library.
  3. JPG, PNG or WEBP, up to 5 MB. We resize it automatically for speed.
  4. To remove your current photo, click Remove photo and confirm. The avatar goes back to the default initials.

The avatar shown on /panel (profile main) is display-only — use the Change photo link under it to jump to settings.

What "identity" means

Identity is a community preference, not a role. Calling yourself a Rider doesn't stop you from selling a scooter, and a Glider can upload a bike route. It's just your voice in the community — pick whichever fits you most of the time. You can change it in your profile any time.
