Choose Your City Bike

City bikes are about trade-offs. Too heavy = lugging up stairs. Too sporty = uncomfortable in office wear. Too expensive = scared to leave outside.

Bike Finder asks about your height, where you live, your stairs-and-parking situation, and budget — then suggests 3 models actually fitting Tallinn / Riga / Vilnius life.

A good city bike isn't 'cheapest'. It's 'matches your life'. The quiz figures that out in 2 minutes.

FAQ

What frame size for a city bike?

Up to 165 cm height: S. 165-175 cm: M. 175-185 cm: L. 185+: XL. Bike Finder gives exact size on the result page.

Aluminium or steel for city?

Aluminium — lighter, easier on stairs, no rust. Steel — smoother on cobbles, heavier. For Tallinn/Riga with lots of stairs, usually aluminium.

How many gears for city?

Flat city (Tartu, Vilnius) — 1-7 speeds. Hilly (parts of Tallinn, Riga) — 7-21. Single-speed is trendy but agony on hills.

Basket or rear rack?

Basket = quick small bag access, not for groceries. Rear rack = panniers up to 25 kg. If you shop on bike, rack matters more.

28" or 29" wheels in city?

City standard is 28" (700C). 29" is MTB sizing — overkill in city. Bike Finder picks automatically.

Budget for a decent city bike?

€500-800 — entry floor for a reliable new bike. Under €500 usually means used or low-quality. €1000-1500 — premium with belt drive or internal gear hub.
