Origin
Whyte's numbered hardtail series — 505, 605, 705, 805, 905 — has been the backbone of the brand's lineup since the early 2010s. The 905 is the flagship enduro hardtail, tuned for aggressive trail and enduro use with a slack 64.5° head angle, long reach, and high-volume 2.8" 27.5" tires that smooth out rough terrain. It draws directly from Whyte's enduro racing programme and represents a UK-conditions-first hardtail design.

The verdict
+Strengths
- 64.5° slack head angle puts hardtail geometry in enduro territory
- 2.8" high-volume tires provide a comfort buffer that partially compensates for the rigid rear
- SRAM Guide T 4-piston brakes deliver strong, consistent stopping power
−Weaknesses
- Rigid rear means it's outpaced by full-suspension bikes on very rough descents
- 27.5" plus-width tires add rolling resistance on smoother trails
- SRAM NX Eagle is the entry level of Eagle — heavier than GX or higher tiers
