VeltSmart
scooter
01
Origin
Velt Smart is an Estonian electric-scooter brand created by the Veltekspert team. The scooters were designed around the team's own riding experience and the realities of the local Baltic urban environment, infrastructure and traffic rules. The line is sold widely through Estonian and Latvian retailers (OnOff, Photopoint, Tõuksimaailm, Velomarket, Garants, Jumatex) rather than as a global export brand. Despite the name 'Velt', it is unrelated to the US e-bike maker Velotric or the bicycle brand Felt.

The verdict
+Strengths
- Locally backed Estonian brand with local service and retail presence across the Baltics
- 10-inch pneumatic tires give a smoother, more stable ride than small solid-tire scooters
- Removable/swappable Li-ion battery — charge indoors or carry a spare
- Dual braking (rear mechanical disc + front motor/regen brake) with short ~4–5 m stopping distance
- Foldable and relatively light (14–15 kg Eco), with a 120 kg load rating
−Weaknesses
- No real suspension — comfort relies on the air tires alone, so rough cobbles still transmit shock
- Modest range on the Eco (~25 km real-world) and long charge times (5–6 h Eco, 7–8 h Pro)
- Manufacturer range claims (esp. Pro 45–55 km) are optimistic vs. calculated ~31 km figures
- Air (inner-tube) tires are puncture-prone and need maintenance compared to solid tires
- Little independent/international review coverage — a regional brand, so resale value and long-term reliability data are thin
