Origin

The MAX line is the workhorse of Segway-Ninebot's kick-scooter range. Segway acquired Ninebot in 2015, and Ninebot in turn had absorbed self-balancing pioneer Segway Inc., creating the dominant force in personal light-electric mobility. The original Ninebot MAX (G30) launched in 2019 and became one of the best-selling commuter scooters in the world, prized for its huge 551 Wh battery, built-in charger and rugged 10-inch tubeless tyres — it was also the model most European rental fleets standardised on. The MAX G2, launched in 2023, is the direct successor: same battery capacity and self-charging convenience, but rebuilt around a genuine dual-suspension chassis, a stronger motor, wider handlebars and footboard, self-sealing tyres and connected features like turn indicators and Apple Find My. It sits at the comfortable-commuter end of the market rather than the performance end.
