Origin

Mondraker released the first Summum in 2010, making it one of the brand's longest-running platforms. The carbon version arrived as the team's World Cup DH weapon, combining the Zero Suspension System (unique dual-link with floating shock) with Forward Geometry well before either concept became mainstream. The bike has competed at the highest DH racing level, winning World Cup rounds. The MIND V2 telemetry option — with magnetic sensors on fork and shock — was later added to give racers precise suspension feedback between runs.

The verdict

+Strengths
  • Full DH race spec on both suspension ends (Fox 40 + DHX2 coil) — no compromises for the trail
  • Zero Suspension's floating shock delivers exceptional sensitivity even under DH loads
  • Geometry Kit headset cups provide race-day head-angle tuning
Weaknesses
  • ~16.7 kg is heavy — DH racing weight, not trail riding
  • Single-purpose DH bike; unsuitable for pedalling to the top
  • Shimano SAINT drivetrain (on RR) is 10-speed — older standard compared to 12-speed competitors
