Origin

The Podium Carbon is Mondraker's XC hardtail, applying the brand's Forward Geometry principles to a pure cross-country platform. The 775 g frame weight makes it a genuine weight benchmark in production XC. Mondraker shifted the Podium's geometry slacker than traditional XC norms — the 68.5° head angle and extended reach bring confidence without sacrificing XC efficiency. It competes against Scott Spark RC, Trek Procaliber, and Canyon Exceed at the elite level.

The verdict

+Strengths
  • 775 g frame is a genuine lightweight benchmark in production XC hardtails
  • 9.7 kg complete weight is race-competitive
  • Forward Geometry gives more trail confidence than traditional short-reach XC bikes
Weaknesses
  • 100 mm fork limits the bike's versatility on rougher terrain
  • 73° actual seat angle (not effective) is less aggressive than some modern XC bikes at 75°+
  • Constant 430 mm chainstay across all sizes may feel long for smaller riders on climbs
