Exceed CF
Origin
The Exceed launched in 2015 as Canyon's pure XC race hardtail and quickly racked up Marathon World Championship wins, Leadville course records, and XCO World Cup podiums for the better part of a decade. With modern World Cup XC tracks trending rougher and the full-suspension Lux World Cup taking over the brand's elite race duties, the 2025 Exceed pivoted: the geometry was slackened (67° head angle), tyre clearance grew to 2.4", and Canyon openly repositioned it as a 'gravel biker's MTB' for bikepacking and adventure rather than a stripped-down race weapon. The non-CFR CF frame keeps the bike accessible — current EU pricing runs €1,799–€3,599 from CF 5 to CF 8 — while the CFR-grade race hardtail tier has effectively been retired in favour of the new Lux World Cup CFR full-suspension. Honest: this is no longer the XC race-day bike, it's the lightweight do-most-things hardtail.
