Lux (XC)
Origin
Canyon is a Koblenz, Germany direct-to-consumer bike maker that grew from a 1980s mail-order parts business (Radsport Arnold) into one of the world's biggest online bike brands, famous for selling high-end frames without a dealer network so buyers get more bike for the money. The Lux is Canyon's dedicated full-suspension cross-country race platform, run under its World Cup XC team and ridden by top pros in the sport's biggest events. Across its generations Canyon relentlessly chased weight: modern Lux World Cup frames use flexing carbon seatstays instead of a pivot and bearings at the rear, shedding grams while keeping the 100-110mm of travel a marathon and short-track XC racer needs. The result is repeatedly billed as one of the lightest dual-suspension XC bikes in the world.

The verdict
- Exceptional low weight — among the lightest full-sus XC bikes made, so it climbs and accelerates like a race bike
- Excellent value: direct-sell pricing gives more groupset and wheels per euro than dealer-sold rivals
- Efficient, firm-pedalling suspension with lockout — very little energy lost on climbs and smooth trail
- Pure race focus: older/World Cup builds ship without a dropper post and can feel skittish on steep technical descents
- Direct-sell means no local dealer support — self-assembly and warranty handled remotely, which matters in the Baltics
- Race-oriented geometry and short travel are less forgiving than trail/down-country bikes for casual riders

- Re-engineered carbon, bare frame ~1,660g, one-piece flex swingarm
3rd gen Lux World Cup (2023-2025)
- Slacker, more modern race geometry; introduced clear CF vs CFR tiering and split from the new Lux Trail.

4th gen Lux World Cup (2026)
- More travel (120/110mm), longer wheelbase, tunable anti-squat, and cheaper CFR entry (~€4,000).
