VSETT launched in 2020 as a sister brand to Minimotors (the Korean manufacturer of Dualtron). Where Dualtron is premium-priced and targets enthusiasts willing to spend €2500-5000+, VSETT was positioned as the value-engineered alternative — same OEM factory, similar component philosophy (dual motors, dual brakes, dual suspension), but at a more accessible €700-2000 price band. The VSETT 9+ specifically targeted the €1200-1500 sweet spot: enough performance to embarrass commuter-class scooters but not enough weight or price to scare off mainstream enthusiasts. By 2022 VSETT had become a major presence in the European specialist e-scooter market, distributed through dedicated shops (Voro Motors US, Falcon PEV Singapore, and dozens of EU specialist dealers including the Baltic specialist scooter shops). The 9+ is consistently the brand's best-seller — the 'goldilocks' scooter in the line.

All three Baltic states' relationship with high-power scooters like VSETT 9+ is in flux. EU-spec firmware (25 km/h capped) is essential for legal commute use. Unlocked 50 km/h firmware is technically illegal as PLEV in all three states. Several Baltic VSETT owners have been fined €40-150 for unlocked firmware caught during speed checks.
