Partner forums — showcasing Biketime

Partner forums is a showcase inside Community for discussion happening on forums we partner with. First — and currently only — partner: Biketime (forum.biketime.ee), an independent Russian-language cycling community based in Estonia.

URBALT's take here: we're partners, not competitors. We're not trying to pull Biketime's community onto URBALT or republish their content as our own — we're pointing people toward a good, established forum and making it easier to discover.

How it's organized

The main page mirrors Biketime's own forum structure: 8 categories — Group rides, Sport, General, Hardware, Gear, For beginners, Forum matters, Trading — each listing its sections (25 in total) with a topic count next to each. Click a section to open its own page with that section's topics, or use the "Browse everything" button to see all topics from every section in one list.

Reading a topic

Clicking a topic keeps you on URBALT — it opens an internal detail page with the full title, author, section, date, and the text of the original opening post. Around 8,300 topics carry their opening post. Only the opening post is mirrored — never the replies; the discussion itself stays on Biketime.

To read the replies and post your own, use the clearly labeled "Read & reply on Biketime" button. It opens the real thread on forum.biketime.ee in a new tab — Biketime's forum, not ours.

Topics are translated into your language

Biketime writes in Russian. Topic titles and opening posts are automatically translated into all five site languages (English, Estonian, Russian, Latvian, Lithuanian). A translated topic shows a "Translated by URBALT" note with a "Show original" toggle, so the untouched Russian original is always one click away.

Finding topics

  • Sections — pick a category and section on the main page; each section has its own page.
  • Search — every section page has a search box: type for live suggestions (top 6 matches), or press Enter for the full result list.
  • Year — filter chips covering Biketime's history (their archive goes back to the mid-2000s).

Search and the year filter combine, and apply within the section you're in (or across everything on the "Browse everything" page). Use Show more to page through longer lists, 100 topics at a time.

Who are the authors?

Every author name is tagged "Biketime" — that's their username on Biketime's own forum, not a URBALT account. URBALT doesn't verify or vouch for these identities; they belong to Biketime's community and moderation, not ours.

Why no reply or view counts?

Biketime's data feed doesn't expose those numbers to us, so we don't show them. We'd rather leave a number out than show something made up or stale.

Is this scraping?

No. This is a formal partnership — Biketime's admin gave explicit written permission for their logo, topic headlines, and opening-post text to be mirrored and translated here. Every card and every outbound link says "Biketime" as the source, opens in a new tab, and the page carries a standing note that reading and replying happens on their site.

What this isn't (yet)

You can't comment or reply to a partner-forum topic on URBALT, and replies from Biketime are never mirrored — that conversation lives on Biketime. There's no cross-posting of URBALT content back to Biketime. And there's only one partner forum right now; more may be added later.
