Gravel Bike — Find Yours
Gravel bike = road + MTB hybrid. Drop bar like road, wider tyres (35-45 mm), softer geometry. Almost road-fast on asphalt, doesn't get lost on dirt and forest trails.
In the Baltics gravel is the near-ideal single-bike: commute, weekend ride to Lahemaa, 100 km mixed surface. Bike Finder figures out usage and suggests 3 models.

FAQ
Gravel or road bike?
Pure asphalt only — road. Baltics with lots of gravel — gravel. 3-5 km/h slower on asphalt but more versatile.
Tyre width?
35-45 mm is the sweet spot. 32-35 mm — near-road, 40+ mm — near-MTB. Tubeless recommended.
Aluminium or carbon gravel?
Under €1500 — alu. €2000-3500 — premium alu or entry carbon. €4000+ — carbon. Carbon damps vibration better on dirt.
How many gears?
1x11 or 1x12 — modern standard. Less complexity, less weight. 2x for very long distance.
Disc brakes mandatory?
Yes. All modern gravel have discs. V-brake cannot handle wide tyres in mud.
Budget?
€1200-1800 floor for alu with Shimano GRX. €2500-4000 premium alu or entry carbon. €5000+ top carbon.
