Origin

Series 4 is Xiaomi's 4th-generation consumer e-scooter line, succeeding the original M365 (2016), Pro / Essential (2018-2019), and Pro 2 / 1S / Essential refresh (2020-2021). '4 Pro' is the mid-flagship of the series. Xiaomi uses generation numbers for the Mi Scooter line. The 'Pro' suffix has historically denoted the bigger-battery, longer-range variant since the Mi Pro (2018). 4 Pro continues this convention. Series 4 global launch 2022. 4 Pro specifically available from Q3 2022 in EU. Mid-flagship consumer commuter — the sweet spot between budget (4 Lite) and full-flagship dual-suspension (4 Ultra). Designed for daily 5-15 km urban commute.

The verdict

+Strengths
  • Best price-to-spec ratio in mid-flagship EU segment — €549-649 for 446 Wh + 10" tires + dual brakes + IPX5 + app Cheaper than Ninebot Max G2 (€749) and Segway F65 (€799) at equivalent spec
  • 10" pneumatic tires — dramatic ride comfort upgrade over 8.5" predecessors, especially over Tallinn cobblestones and Riga tram rails
  • Build quality feels tighter than M365 / Pro 2 lineage — less stem wobble, more solid folding mechanism
  • Xiaomi Home app integration — familiar UX for existing Mi ecosystem users (phones, smart home)
  • Wide parts availability — shares many parts with Ninebot Max G30, so brake pads / tires / cables are easy to source
  • Mass-market familiarity — every scooter shop in Baltics services Xiaomi, no exotic-brand support gap
Weaknesses
  • Non-removable battery on standard 4 Pro — cannot swap for spare on long rides; cannot easily replace when battery degrades after 500+ cycles
  • Real-world range 30-40 km vs 55 km claimed — typical category honesty gap, but disappointing if you expected the marketing figure
  • Winter range halves below freezing — Baltic Dec-Feb rides drop to 18-25 km real
  • IPX5 is rainproof but not puddle-proof — battery compartment water ingress is a documented failure mode on units used in heavy rain / road spray
  • No GPS tracking — app-based locator only works via Bluetooth when scooter is near phone. Theft recovery requires aftermarket AirTag / 4G GPS tracker.
  • Heaviest in its price class (17 kg) — carrying up apartment stairs is doable but unpleasant
  • Stock tires not puncture-resistant — pinch flats and glass cuts are common in Baltic urban use
  • Theft magnet in Baltic capitals — most-stolen e-scooter model in Tallinn / Riga / Vilnius per police reports

Buyer’s notes

01
Range claim of 55 km is optimistic — real-world expect 40 km in moderate weather, 25-30 km in cold (Reddit r/electricscooters + redditrecs.com aggregate, 1761 reviews / 766 discussions). Plan your commute against 40 km, not 55.
