Turbowheel Lightning
Origin
The Turbowheel Lightning was, for several years, the answer to 'what's the best performance scooter under €2000?' Distributed by eWheels in the US and grey-imported across the EU, the Lightning delivered dual 1000W motors, a 957 Wh (later 1260 Wh) battery, hybrid road/off-road tires and a verified ~70 km/h top speed at a price that consistently undercut Dualtron's entry-level performance line. It was the scooter that taught a generation of riders that dual-motor performance didn't have to mean a €3000 outlay. Often praised in reviews as 'punching above its weight,' the Lightning's place in the market was ultimately eaten by the next generation of Kaabo Mantis Pro and NAMI Burn-e variants, and Turbowheel quietly retired the line by 2023. Used Lightnings remain a popular entry into the performance segment.
