Trek Top Fuel SLR
Origin
The Top Fuel SLR designation was used on Gen 3 of the Top Fuel platform (model years 2022-2024) to distinguish the premium carbon builds from the SL (lower-tier carbon) and alloy versions. Top Fuel itself has been Trek's short-travel full-suspension XC/down-country bike since 2002, evolving from a 100mm marathon racer into the modern 120mm rear / 130mm fork down-country format that defined the category. The Gen 3 SLR ran an ABP four-bar layout, the trademark Mino Link geometry flip-chip, and frame weights around 2.4kg painted. For 2025 Trek launched Gen 4 with a redesigned frame (160g lighter), a 4-position Mino Link allowing travel and wheelsize adjustment between 120mm/29er and 130mm/MX, and dropped the SLR/SL naming — all carbon builds are now just 'Top Fuel'. The Gen 4 is reviewed as one of the most adjustable XC/down-country bikes on the market.
