Trek Domane+ AL
Origin
The Domane+ AL was introduced in 2022 as the affordable, aluminum entry point into Trek's electric road lineup. Where the carbon Domane+ SLR uses an expensive mid-drive, the AL relies on a Hyena HyDrive rear hub motor with a torque sensor — a simpler, lighter, and cheaper architecture that keeps the bike well under three thousand euro. The 250 Wh battery is integrated into the downtube and an optional 250 Wh range extender effectively doubles range. The geometry mirrors the analog Domane AL endurance frame, with relaxed angles, clearance for 35 mm tires, and Trek's IsoZone vibration-damping handlebar. The whole bike weighs around 14 kg, low for a hub-drive e-road, and rides like a normal road bike when the motor is off.
