Specialized Status 2

Origin

The Status started as a stealth, low-cost mullet enduro/freeride bike in 2021 — released without fanfare, sold direct, and aimed at riders who wanted long-travel performance at half the price of a Stumpjumper EVO. It earned a cult following on jump trails and bike parks. For 2025, Specialized expanded the line into the Status 2 family: a 140mm trail/park model, a 170mm freeride model, and a Status 2 170 DH with dual-crown fork. Mixed wheels (29 front / 27.5 rear) remain the signature, and the M5 alloy frame keeps prices honest. The Status sits explicitly between Enduro and Demo — a freeride and bike-park bike that doesn't pretend to climb.
