Origin

The Turbo Levo launched in 2015 as one of the first mainstream full-power eMTBs from a major brand and effectively defined the category that followed. Specialized, headquartered in Morgan Hill, California, co-developed the original Brose-based drive unit specifically for the Levo, prioritising a natural pedaling feel over raw wattage at a time when most rivals were repurposing industrial motors. The Levo has been through four generations (2015 Gen 1, 2019 Gen 2, 2022 Gen 3, 2025 Gen 4), each iteration cleaning up the silhouette and pulling the motor and battery deeper into the carbon mainframe. The 2025 Gen 4 introduced the in-house Specialized 3.1 motor (101 Nm, 666 W), an 840 Wh main battery with rapid 5 A charging, and an S-Works tune that breaks the 100 Nm barrier at 111 Nm and 720 W. Production is global, with frames built in Asia and final assembly and EU distribution out of Cham, Switzerland.
