Honzo

01

Origin

Launched in 2012, the steel Honzo broke the rules of the day with 1×9 drivetrain, super-short chainstays, 68° head angle and stubby stem — a recipe so successful it set the template for modern aggressive hardtails industry-wide. Steel's natural flex soaks trail chatter, which is why Kona has stuck with Cromoly for the Honzo family across 13+ years even as alloy competitors came and went. The ESD variant pushes the same idea into enduro territory with 150mm fork and slacker angles.
