Caledonia / Caledonia-5
Origin
Launched in 2020, the Caledonia was Cervelo's first dedicated endurance/all-road platform — a deliberately 'detuned' race bike with longer wheelbase, slacker geometry and serious tyre clearance, named after the Scottish word for the rugged north. The Caledonia-5 sits above it as the flagship classics-and-cobbles weapon: in early-generation form it was raced at Paris-Roubaix and Strade Bianche. The 2024-2025 refresh increased clearance from 34 to 36 mm tyres (or 34 with mudguards), added a downtube glovebox with a flip-lock lid and tailored pouches, and shaved 53 g from the frame. It still uses the classic threaded T47a bottom bracket on the standard Caledonia for serviceability — a deliberate departure from the press-fit S5/R5.
