Origin

The Ultimate is Canyon's longest-running carbon race bike, unveiled at Eurobike in 2004 as the brand's first carbon road frame. The second generation in 2007 introduced an asymmetric seat tube and Canyon Engineered Parts components; Australian Baden Cooke had taken the original to victory at the 2007 Tour Down Under, and Cadel Evans famously soloed to the 2009 World Championships in Mendrisio on a second-gen Ultimate. Across five generations the platform has consistently won at the highest level — three Grand Tour titles and two World Championships per Canyon's own marketing, with the current platform built around a 780 g CFR frame using Toray T1100/T800 + M40X fibre. The 2026 generation is positioned as the climbing-first all-rounder in Canyon's road line: lighter and more comfortable than the Aeroad, faster than the Endurace. Most CF SLX and CFR builds ship with integrated power meters and ceramic hybrid bearings as standard.
