Inflite AL
Origin
The Inflite AL was Canyon's aluminum cyclocross race bike, built around UCI-legal CX geometry and aimed squarely at Bundesliga and Belgian-style amateur racing. Through its 2014-2017 first generation and the 2017-2022 second generation, it ran cantilever and later flat-mount disc brakes, 33 mm UCI-legal tyre clearance, and the distinctive kinked top tube that allowed easier shouldering during run-ups. Spec ranged from Shimano 105 mechanical at the entry tier up to Ultegra-equipped SLX 8.0 trim. After Canyon launched the carbon Inflite CF SLX with rider Mathieu van der Poel and pivoted the brand's cyclocross identity toward carbon-only, the AL version was quietly dropped in 2022. The Inflite line itself was eventually folded into Canyon's broader gravel offering—the Grail and Grizl now absorb most of what the Inflite once did for non-racers.
