Cannondale Mavaro Neo SL
Origin
The Mavaro Neo SL launched in early 2024 as the lightweight ('SL' = Super Light) sibling to the full-power Mavaro Neo. While the regular Mavaro Neo uses a Bosch Performance Line mid-drive and a 625Wh battery, the SL trades raw power for sleekness — a 350W Bafang G020 rear hub motor (45Nm, 25km/h EU cutoff) with a smaller 360Wh Darfon battery integrated into the sleek SmartForm C3 aluminium downtube. The result is a city e-bike that hides its electric nature even better than the Treadwell Neo, while keeping full commuter equipment (fenders, rack, lights, kickstand) standard across both SL 1 and SL 2 trims. Three frame geometries — Standard, StepThru, Low StepThru (44.7cm standover) — make it one of the most accessibility-focused e-bikes in Cannondale's lineup. The bike runs a 50mm 'Headshok'-style front suspension and Schwalbe Big Ben 700x50c tyres for paved-and-gravel comfort. Designed primarily for mature urban riders in European cities, with high-volume sales expected across Germany, Netherlands and Nordics.
