Origin

Launched in 2016 as a city-focused sibling to the Sinus trekking line, the Tria prioritises accessibility with its low step-through frame. The N8 generation brought the Bosch Smart System — a significant upgrade in motor refinement and connectivity — while retaining the Nexus hub drivetrain valued by city cyclists for its zero-maintenance character.

The verdict

+Strengths
  • Bosch Performance Line 75 Nm motor delivers confident power for urban hills and loaded commuting
  • Shimano Nexus 8-speed hub requires virtually zero maintenance — ideal for daily city use
  • Low step-through design and suspended seatpost prioritise accessibility and comfort
Weaknesses
  • 500 Wh battery is adequate for city range but modest compared to trekking e-bikes in same price bracket
  • 63 mm fork travel is minimal — city roads are manageable but rougher paths transmit vibration
  • Coaster brake on rear may be unfamiliar to riders accustomed to hand-lever rear braking only
