Origin
Launched in 2018, the GSD (Get Stuff Done) was Tern’s answer to the question: what if a bike could replace a car for families? Its 20-inch folding-platform frame packs cargo geometry and a MultiTruss structural design into a bike small enough to roll into an elevator. By Gen 3 it had earned DIN 79010 cargo-bike certification, Bosch ABS, and the ability to carry up to 210 kg — two adults plus children and groceries.

The verdict
+Strengths
- Best-in-class 210 kg GVW and 100 kg rear rack — genuinely replaces the school run by car
- Bosch Cargo Line + ABS combo gives confident stopping even fully loaded
- Five-second fold means it fits in lifts and tight storage despite the long-tail layout
−Weaknesses
- 37 kg is heavy — carrying it up stairs without power is a workout
- Premium price; dual-battery adds significant cost
- Long wheelbase limits tight-alley manoeuvring
