ROSE BikesReveal Series
road1800–5500 EUR
01
Origin
2018. The Reveal replaced the PRO CGF as ROSE's flagship endurance road bike. Where the PRO CGF was Rose's 'entry-level carbon endurance bike', the Reveal was conceived as high-performance endurance — comparable to Specialized Roubaix or Canyon Endurace, not a touring machine. It became one of ROSE's three most popular model families (alongside Backroad and Blend) according to 99spokes.

The verdict
+Strengths
- Outstanding value via direct sales — Ultegra Di2 + RC42 carbon wheels at €4,200 is exceptional vs retail
- BikeRadar: 'The ride quality is up there with the very best in the endurance genre'
- D-shape seatpost provides meaningful compliance — German user confirmed: 'Frame and bars flex perfectly on bad roads'
- BB86 + asymmetric chainstays: 'Outstanding power transfer' (rosebikes.com)
- 7 sizes covering wide range of rider heights
- Fully integrated cable routing via headset — clean cockpit
- ROSE Carbon One-Piece Endurance cockpit standard on top builds — comfort + stiffness + aerodynamics
- RC42 carbon wheels standard on 06 builds — 42mm depth, aero hubs
- High Modulus Carbon (06): 100g saved vs 04 at same stiffness — confirmed by Rose
−Weaknesses
- 32mm maximum tyre clearance — less than Backroad (50mm) or some competitors (38mm+)
- BikeRadar: 'Even with 27.2mm carbon seatpost and 40mm tyres, ride comfort less than BMC Roadmachine X with aluminium seatpost and 34mm tyres' — noted on earlier model
- Press-fit BB86 on carbon models — durability concern for all-weather use vs threaded
- Direct-to-consumer only — no dealer test rides before purchase (UK: no local access at all since 2021 withdrawal)
- Delivery time issues reported by German users: multiple users note 2–3 month delays vs stated delivery date
- No mudguard mounts on most models (unlike Backroad) — reduces all-weather versatility
- Reveal Plus (e-road) Mahle battery limited: 250Wh Mahle system vs 360Wh on Backroad Plus
