ES600
Origin
OKAI is a Chinese micromobility manufacturer (founded 2016, headquartered in Changzhou with a US arm) that supplies both consumer e-scooters/e-bikes and, increasingly, purpose-built hardware for shared-mobility operators. The ES600 was unveiled at CES 2022 as the sharing-focused member of OKAI's fleet line, sitting below the off-road consumer Panther ES800 shown at the same event. Rather than chasing top speed, it was engineered around the economics of rental fleets: a single-piece unibody frame to survive rough public use, a low center of gravity and wide deck for rider stability, solid puncture-proof tires to kill flat-tire downtime, and a swappable battery so operators can swap a fresh pack curbside instead of hauling the whole scooter to a depot. Integrated IoT (GPS, remote lock/unlock, telemetry) lets it plug straight into sharing platforms like Lime, Bird or regional operators.

The verdict
- Built for abuse: unibody frame, solid puncture-proof tires and sealed IP67 battery make it low-maintenance and weatherproof.
- Swappable battery with a carry handle enables fast curbside battery swaps - a big operational win for rental fleets.
- Integrated IoT (GPS, remote lock, telemetry) means it drops straight into a sharing platform with minimal retrofit.
- Not a consumer product - hard to buy standalone, and typically speed-locked to 25 km/h, so private riders gain little.
- Modest performance: 350W rated motor and 25 km/h cap make it slow and weak on hills compared with consumer commuters.
- Solid honeycomb tires and a heavy 32-33 kg build give a firmer, less comfortable ride than pneumatic-tire scooters.
Generations

- Original sharing scooter: unibody, drum brakes, IoT, front hydraulic suspension.
ES600P (LED / waterproof revision)
- Adds circular ambient LED light modes and stronger weatherproofing for visibility/last-mile use; same drivetrain core.
