Origin

The Four Corners has been Marin's dedicated bikepacking and loaded touring platform since 2015, built around the idea that a bike should handle four corners of the world as comfortably loaded as unladen. It is the most touring-oriented bike in the Marin gravel lineup, differentiated from the Nicasio by its lowrider fork mounts, six bottle cage bosses, and explicit packing DNA.

The verdict

+Strengths
  • Most mount points in the Marin lineup -- six bottles plus lowrider and rack eyelets
  • Size-matched wheel sizing ensures proper fit and tire volume for all riders
  • Steel CrMo soaks up road buzz over long days loaded with gear
Weaknesses
  • Heavier than alloy or carbon alternatives -- steel touring weight is the price of durability
  • Less nimble than lighter gravel bikes when ridden unloaded
  • MicroShift Sword groupset is new and less proven in the field than Shimano GRX
