Devote Advanced
Origin
Liv is the world's first cycling brand dedicated entirely to women, spun out of Giant in 2008 under Bonnie Tu, and now the largest women-specific bike brand globally. The Devote is Liv's dedicated gravel/adventure platform, launched in 2020 as the drop-bar sibling to the Devote's flat-bar cousins and Liv's Langma/Avail road bikes. Rather than shrink-and-pinking a unisex frame, Liv builds Devote geometry, contact points and even carbon lay-up around anatomical and physiological data the brand cites from multiple research sources — the result is a gravel bike tuned for female riders' typical proportions, saddle needs and rider weight ranges. In Fall 2023 Liv fully redesigned the Devote for the 2024 model year: longer and lower for descending confidence, a rear-dropout flip chip to swap between snappy 45mm and stable 53mm tire clearance, and — a first for the model — integrated down-tube storage on the carbon Advanced and Advanced Pro frames.
Specifications
- Frame
- Advanced-grade carbon composite; 12x142mm thru-axle, flat-mount disc; Gen2 adds flip-chip dropout + integrated down-tube storage on carbon trims

- Brakes
- Hydraulic disc, 160mm rotors — Shimano GRX (RX-820/RX-400 by trim) or SRAM Force/Apex; older Gen1 base trims used BR-RX400

The verdict
- Excellent, confidence-inspiring handling on rough gravel and descents
- Women-specific fit and notably comfortable saddle/contact points
- Versatile, adjustable platform (flip-chip clearance, wide gearing) that does adventure and light racing
- Gen2 in-frame storage is small/restrictive and the flip-chip swap is a fiddly job
- Some reviewers disliked the handlebar drop shape and shifter reach-adjust
- Premium carbon trims (Advanced Pro) are expensive for the segment
Generations
Gen1 (2020-2023)
- Original Devote — lively, comfortable, GRX/SRAM builds, no in-frame storage.
Gen2 (Fall 2023 / MY2024 onward)
- Redesigned for more descending stability, bigger tires and internal storage on carbon frames.
