Stereo ONE77
Origin
ONE77 = 177mm of measured shock travel mapped to the 170mm rear wheel travel via ETC 4-Link kinematics. The naming convention (ONE22 / ONE44 / ONE55 / ONE77) standardises Cube's full-suspension lineup by travel: ONE22 = 120mm trail, ONE44 = 140mm trail, ONE55 = 150mm enduro-light, ONE77 = 170mm enduro/freeride. Pre-2024 the bike was called Stereo 170 — same platform, same 170mm travel. Cube renamed to ONE77 to align the entire Stereo family under a single naming logic and to differentiate clearly from the Stereo Hybrid (e-MTB) line. The ONE77 name debuted with the 2024 model year. The Stereo 170 platform itself is older (2020-2023). Top-of-range enduro race / freeride / bike-park weapon — designed to win EWS-class enduro stages and survive long days in lift-served bike parks. Not a trail bike, not an all-mountain bike — a dedicated long-travel descent-focused machine. high official_plus_press
The verdict
- Modern enduro race geometry — 63.5 deg HA, 77 deg STA, reach 470mm M / 495mm L. Numbers line up with YT Capra, Canyon Strive, Specialized Enduro at the high end of the segment geometry is bang on for modern enduro racing (BikePerfect)
- ETC 4-Link rear suspension — supportive mid-stroke with progressive end-stroke, works equally well with air or coil shock without re-engineering ETC 4-Link absolutely glues you to the trail (BikePerfect)
- Frame coil-ready out of the box — SLT 2024 ships with Marzocchi Bomber CR coil; full lineup can run Fox DHX2, Cane Creek DB Coil, RockShox Super Deluxe Coil
- Dealer network advantage in Baltic — Tallinn / Riga / Vilnius dealers with demo bikes, warranty service, no DTC wait. Cube vs YT/Canyon = pay slightly more, get full local support
- 5-year frame warranty on both alloy and HPC carbon — longer than most DTC rivals (YT 2 years)
- Mullet-compatible via shock yoke flip chip — buyer can run 29F/27.5R without aftermarket geometry adjusters
- Pricing no longer undercuts YT/Canyon — Action Team €6999 is in the same band as YT Capra Uncaged or Canyon Strive CFR at full retail. The 'cheap German alternative' positioning has eroded Cube doesn't quite undercut them anymore (BikePerfect)
- Coil shock on 2024 SLT (Marzocchi Bomber CR) is polarising — works brilliantly on fast/jumpy terrain but feels overdamped on small-bump chatter. Riders should test before committing love-it-or-hate-it choice (MBR)
- Newmen Phase 30 carbon wheels (Action Team) — nice but rear hub engagement is slow under hard pedalling. Aftermarket DT 240 / Industry Nine swap is a common upgrade rear hub engagement feels slow (BikePerfect)
- Short seat tube on smaller sizes (S/M) limits long-travel dropper insertion — riders 168-175cm may want size up for full-length 185mm dropper. Carry-over from Stereo 170 era limits dropper insertion on smaller sizes (BikeRadar)
- No women's-specific tuning, no XS frame size — riders under 162cm are excluded. For shorter riders, Cube directs to Stereo ONE55 or shorter-travel platforms
- Heavier than some carbon enduro rivals — 14.7-15.5 kg HPC vs Specialized Stumpjumper Carbon 14.0 kg or YT Capra MX Core 4 ~14.5 kg. Difference matters less in enduro than XC, but not nothing
