CommencalMeta Power
e-mtb
01
Origin
The Meta Power debuted in 2018 as Commencal's first e-MTB — essentially the Meta AM enduro platform adapted to carry a Bosch CX motor and battery. The SX V4 (2023) brought the mullet wheel layout (29"/27.5") and VCS suspension technology from the acoustic Meta SX, making it one of the most capable alloy enduro e-bikes available direct-to-consumer.

The verdict
+Strengths
- Bosch CX motor (85Nm) delivers class-leading torque for enduro climbs and technical uphills
- 625Wh internal battery with optional 250Wh extender gives one of the best range options in the class
- VCS suspension and mullet geometry translate the acoustic Meta SX's descending ability to electric
−Weaknesses
- Alloy frame adds weight vs carbon e-MTB alternatives — mullet e-enduro bikes are already heavy
- High BB (~355mm) can feel awkward on smooth terrain
- Bosch CX motor engagement can feel abrupt at low cadence for some riders
