BergamontEncore

Origin
The Bergamont Encore is the German brand's dedicated 27.5" enduro platform, built around 165 mm of rear travel and a 160–170 mm fork. It was conceived as a do-it-all race-and-ride enduro bike that pairs long, slack geometry with a tunable rear end, using a flip chip to give the bike 'two personalities' for different terrain. It sat at the top of Bergamont's gravity-oriented MTB lineup, with the 9.0 as the flagship build.

The verdict
+Strengths
- Excellent rear suspension — great small-bump sensitivity with a progressive curve that uses its travel well and builds speed eagerly
- Balanced, long-and-slack geometry that stays capable on burly trails without sacrificing agility
- Powerful, reliable Magura MT5 braking (on the 9.0 build)
- Flip-chip adjustable geometry gives genuine versatility across terrain
−Weaknesses
- Lacks modern standards — non-Boost 12×142 rear hubs limit wheel/upgrade compatibility
- Narrow 23 mm rims restrict tire volume and traction/comfort
- Top shock-mount rotates a lot, adding friction; a needle bearing is needed for maximum sensitivity
- Polarising, bold aesthetic that not everyone will like
