Происхождение
Orbea is one of the oldest bike makers in the world — founded in 1840 as a Basque firearms workshop in Eibar, Spain, it pivoted to bicycles in 1930 and today is a worker-owned cooperative in Mallabia. The Alma is its cross-country race hardtail and one of its most decorated platforms: launched in 2006, it carried Julien Absalon to World Cup wins and helped riders reach the Olympic podium (Georgia Gould took XCO bronze in London 2012 aboard an Alma). The bike was reborn in carbon in 2010-2011 with an alloy 'Hydro' line added for accessibility, split into 29er and 650b versions in 2014, then fully redesigned for 2021 with the ultralight ~830g OMX frame, and again for 2025 with a more compliant, trail-capable pentagonal rear end. Throughout, Orbea kept the Alma buildable to a rider's body and budget through its made-to-order MyO program — which is where a 'women's' Alma comes from: same frame, tailored size, contact points and colour rather than a separate women's chassis.
