2022 m. „Niu“ įžengė į vartotojų elektrinių paspirtukų (atsispiriamųjų paspirtukų) segmentą, pristatydama KQi 3 šeimą „CES 2022“ parodoje – tai buvo apgalvotas žingsnis užimti žemesnės kainos asmeninio mobilumo erdvę, esančią šalia jos flagmano elektrinių mopedų. „KQi 3 Pro“ buvo vidutinės specifikacijos modelis šeimoje ir greitai tapo geriausiai parduodamu „Niu“ modeliu šiame segmente. „Niu“ dizaino kalba (halogeninis priekinis žibintas, aukštos kokybės apdaila, programėlės integracija) buvo tiesiogiai perkelta iš elektrinių mopedų verslo ir suteikė „KQi 3 Pro“ stipresnį vizualinį patrauklumą nei dauguma konkurentų už tokią kainą.

Verdiktas

+Stiprybės
  • Premium design and finish — the signature halo headlight, paint quality, deck rails, and overall fit-and-finish are noticeably above competitors at €600-750. Niu's e-moped DNA shows clearly. best-looking e-scooter in its class (ESG)
  • Hydraulic rear disc brake — a genuine differentiator at this price. Sharper modulation, less hand fatigue, no cable stretch. Significantly better than the mechanical drum on the Segway G30.
  • Wide, grippy deck (175 mm wide) with raised side rails — most reviewers cite the KQi 3 Pro deck as the most comfortable in its commuter class. Better foot stability than the Segway G30's 158 mm deck.
  • IP54 water-and-dust resistance — slightly better dust protection than the Segway G30's IPX5. Useful for Baltic spring (sand-after-snow) and summer construction-dust commutes.
  • Niu app is solid — battery monitoring, ride statistics, firmware updates, lock function, theft alarm. Not as deep on cell-level diagnostics as Segway-Ninebot's app but covers the core needs.
  • Halo headlight + matching taillight — strong visual identity, good daytime running-light visibility, and adequate beam for unlit Baltic suburban streets.
  • 2-year battery warranty vs Segway G30's 1-year. A small but meaningful long-term value point.
  • Public-company stability — Niu is NASDAQ-listed (NIU), giving Baltic buyers more visibility into long-term company health than most private Chinese e-mobility OEMs.
Trūkumai
  • Range falls short of the Segway G30 — 30-38 km real-world vs 35-45 km on G30. Heavy commuters (>10 km one-way) and couriers will typically prefer the G30's larger 551 Wh battery. Niu falls a bit short on range (Trusted Reviews)
  • Heavy at 20.7 kg — even heavier than the Segway G30 (18.7 kg) and significantly heavier than Xiaomi 4 Pro (14.2 kg). Apartment dwellers with stairs and multi-modal commuters feel this daily.
  • Front E-ABS-only braking — same compromise as Segway G30. Hydraulic rear partially compensates but panic stops still rely on front regen. New riders consistently underestimate stopping distance.
  • No suspension — fully rigid frame. On Baltic potholes and tram tracks at angle, the rigid frame transmits all impact. Same compromise as the G30; the Segway MAX G2 or Pure Air Pro are alternatives if suspension is critical.
  • Niu app is good but a step behind Segway-Ninebot's mature ecosystem — fewer cell-level diagnostics, less granular settings.
  • 9.5" tires are a small step behind the Segway G30's 10" on the very roughest Baltic cobblestone (Tallinn Old Town's most uneven sections). Still much better than 8.5" Xiaomi-class.
  • Battery non-removable and 6.5h charging time — same fleet-operation limitation as Segway G30. Couriers needing 50+ km per day either buy two units or split shifts.
  • Bluetooth-only connectivity (no cellular, no GPS) — theft alarm depends on phone being in range. Niu's higher-end e-mopeds have built-in GPS; the KQi 3 series does not.

01
Verify the exact variant name on the deck/handlebar label before buying — Niu sells KQi 3 Sport, KQi 3 Pro, and KQi 3 Max with significantly different specs and prices. The KQi 3 Pro has a hydraulic rear disc brake (key feature). KQi 3 Sport uses mechanical cable disc and has smaller 365 Wh battery. Confirm by checking the rear brake caliper — if you see a hydraulic line (oil-filled), it's the Pro or Max.
02
If buying used 2022 production: inspect the rear hydraulic brake caliper carefully for fluid leaks at the banjo bolt fitting. Early-2022 units had a small batch of slow leakers fixed under warranty — confirm with seller if the fix was done, or budget €30-50 for a brake bleed and inspection at a Baltic e-scooter shop.
03
For Baltic daily commute 5-15 km one-way: KQi 3 Pro is the sweet spot — premium finish, hydraulic rear, halo headlight, 30-38 km real range. For longer commutes (>15 km one-way) or courier use: Segway MAX G30 wins on range. For shorter commutes (<5 km) and weight-sensitive riders: consider Xiaomi 4 Pro or KQi 3 Sport.
04
If you want suspension: KQi 3 Pro has NONE. Consider the Segway MAX G2 (front suspension, ~€999) or Pure Air Pro instead. The 9.5" pneumatic tires absorb a lot of buzz but sharp Baltic potholes will still transmit hard impacts to the rider.
05
Used market: ALWAYS ask seller for Niu app diagnostic screenshot showing total km, ride count, and battery state of health. If seller refuses or doesn't have the app set up, walk away — likely high-cycle unit or counterfeit. Also verify the halo headlight LED ring illuminates uniformly with no missing segments.
06
Best Baltic-region dealers for new KQi 3 Pro: Euronics, 1A, Apollo (EE); 220.lv, RD Electronics (LV); Senukai, Topo Centras, Pigu.lt (LT). Also direct from Niu's EU webshop (eu.niu.com) with EU-warehouse shipping. Spring/summer clearance (May-August) often drops KQi 3 Pro to €549-599 on outgoing stock.
07
Hydraulic rear brake maintenance: plan to bleed the hydraulic line every 2-3 years for daily commuter use (~€30-50 at a Baltic e-scooter shop, similar to bike-shop hydraulic-bleed service). Replace pads when they wear thin (~€10-15 per pair). The hydraulic system is otherwise low-maintenance and far less fiddly than mechanical cable disc.
08
Winter strategy in Baltic: if you must commute below 0°C daily, accept that range will drop 30-50%. Wipe hydraulic brake caliper and disc clean of road-salt slush after each winter ride to prevent salt build-up. Store battery indoors (apartment) when not riding for several days. Plug in to charge immediately after riding while battery is still warm.
09
Tire replacement: budget €30-50 per tire at a Baltic e-scooter shop. Tubeless pneumatic tires are harder to mount than tubed — not recommended as a first-time DIY job unless you have the right bead-seating tools. The 9.5" KQi 3 Pro size has good aftermarket support from CST and Chao Yang.
10
Front E-ABS-only braking is the same compromise as the Segway G30. Practice combined-braking emergency stops in a parking lot before commuting in traffic: release throttle (front regen) + firm rear hydraulic lever. The KQi 3 Pro's hydraulic rear gives you more confidence in panic stops than the G30's mechanical drum.
11
Theft prevention: KQi 3 Pro has no built-in GPS. Add an Apple AirTag, Samsung SmartTag, or Tile under the deck in a small adhesive case. Use a heavy-duty U-lock or chain through the folding stem when parking. The signature halo headlight is recognisable — thieves know what they're stealing.
12
Firmware unlocking (raising 25 km/h to 32 km/h via app region-change to US or third-party tools) — DO NOT do this on a Baltic-registered/used scooter. It exposes you to fines, insurance void in case of accident, and reclassification as moped under EE/LV/LT law. The 7 km/h gain is not worth the legal risk.
13
Serial number is on the deck underside and on the stem base — see serial_number section. Verify against Niu app — if the app pairs and shows a matching serial, the unit is genuine. Niu units sold outside official EU channels can have firmware locked to non-EU regions, which can complicate warranty service.

Įstatymas ir registracija

All three Baltic states recognise EU-spec Niu KQi 3 Pro as a personal light electric vehicle. Helmet, alcohol, and minimum-age rules differ. The US-spec unlocked variant (32 km/h) is technically illegal in all three Baltic states as a PLEV — riding above 25 km/h reclassifies it as a moped requiring registration, license, insurance, and plate.
