Keo 2 Max

LOOK Cycle, founded in 1951 in Nevers, France, made cycling history in 1984 when it adapted its ski-binding clip-in technology into the first commercially successful clipless road pedal — the pedal Bernard Hinault rode to victory in the 1985 Tour de France. That patented step-in system reshaped road cycling and the modern 'Keo' standard is its direct descendant, introduced in 2005 as a lighter, narrower evolution of the earlier 3-hole system. The Keo 2 Max sits in the middle of LOOK's Keo road range: it took the Keo 2 platform and widened the stainless-steel contact plate to 500 mm2 (a ~25% increase over the earlier 400 mm2 plate) for a broader, more stable foot-to-pedal interface. It is positioned as a sportive / gran-fondo pedal for club and enthusiast riders rather than a pro race product.
