Pathlite (All-road)
Kilmė
Canyon, the German direct-to-consumer brand from Koblenz founded by Roman Arnold in 2002, built its reputation cutting out bike-shop middlemen to sell race-grade bikes at prices that undercut the traditional retail chain. The Pathlite launched around 2019 as Canyon's answer to the 'do-everything' fitness-hybrid question: a flat-bar aluminium bike that rides fast on tarmac yet can duck onto gravel, towpaths and fireroads without complaint. Where Canyon's Roadlite sat firmly on the road side of the fitness-bike spectrum, the Pathlite deliberately leaned adventurous -- a short-travel Suntour suspension fork, 40 mm all-road tyres and mountain-bike SLX/XT drivetrains gave it genuine off-tarmac ability while staying light and nimble. It sat in an increasingly crowded middle ground between the fitness hybrid, the gravel bike and the light trekking bike, and Canyon ran it from roughly 2019 through 2025 before folding the concept into its electric Pathlite:ON range.

Verdiktas
- Genuinely capable on mixed surfaces -- the 75 mm Suntour fork and 40 mm tyres soak up gravel, towpaths and fireroads that unsettle rigid hybrids
- Strong MTB-derived spec for the money (Shimano SLX/XT drivetrains, hydraulic discs) thanks to Canyon's direct-to-consumer pricing
- Light and nimble for a suspension-forked hybrid (~12-13 kg), with a smooth, buzz-damped ride quality
- Fixed one-piece stem-bar and ergonomic grips on some trims limit fit adjustment -- reviewers felt 'perched' rather than in the bike
- Direct-to-consumer means you buy unseen and self-assemble; no local dealer fit or hands-on test ride
- Jack-of-all-trades positioning -- not as fast as a pure road hybrid nor as capable as a dedicated gravel bike
