Algupära

Cervelo launched the Rouvida in 2023 as its first-ever electric bicycle — a significant departure for a brand built on UCI-legal race bikes for elite road and triathlon athletes. Rather than a compromise design, Cervelo engineered the Rouvida around a dual-personality concept: a single carbon frame that converts between road and gravel geometry via interchangeable dropouts, paired with the lightweight Fazua Ride60 motor system. The name "Rouvida" blends Occitan roots for "road" and "life" (via de route), reflecting the bike's ambition to extend cycling range without diminishing the ride experience.

Verdikt

+Tugevused
  • Interchangeable dropout geometry is a genuine innovation — one frame covers two distinct riding disciplines without compromise
  • Fazua Ride60 integration is discreet; the Rouvida looks and handles like a normal road/gravel bike with assistance
  • Carbon frame construction keeps system weight competitive despite motor and battery — road build at 12.38 kg is notably light for an e-bike
Nõrkused
  • Premium pricing (from ~$6,150 to $12,150) places it significantly above comparable non-assisted gravel bikes
  • 432 Wh battery may limit range for long mixed-terrain rides; no range extender option mentioned
  • Dropout swaps require tools and time — not a quick trailside adjustment; buyers commit to one mode per ride
