Algupära

VSETT käivitati 2020. aastal Minimotorsi (Dualtroni tootva Korea ettevõtte) sõsarbrandina. Kui Dualtron on premium-hinnaga ja suunatud entusiastidele, kes on valmis kulutama 2500-5000+ eurot, siis VSETT positsioneeriti väärtuslikuma alternatiivina – sama OEM-tehas, sarnane komponentide filosoofia (kahe mootoriga, kahe piduriga, kahe vedrustusega), kuid soodsamas 700-2000 euro hinnaklassis. VSETT 9+ sihtis konkreetselt 1200-1500 euro suurust magusat kohta: piisavalt jõudlust, et häbistada pendelklassi tõukerattaid, kuid mitte piisavalt kaalu ega hinda, et hirmutada peavoolu entusiaste. 2022. aastaks oli VSETT muutunud oluliseks tegijaks Euroopa spetsialiseeritud e-tõukerataste turul, mida müüdi pühendunud kaupluste kaudu (Voro Motors US, Falcon PEV Singapur ja kümned EL-i spetsialiseeritud edasimüüjad, sealhulgas Baltikumi spetsialiseeritud tõukerattapoodid). 9+ on järjekindlalt brändi enimmüüdud mudel – 'kuldse kesktee' tõukeratas tootevalikus.

Both wheels have physical disc brakes with mechanical cable-pull from handlebar levers. Combined with regen on both motors gives genuine emergency-stop performance. Disc brakes require occasional adjustment — cable stretch over 6-12 months means pad-rotor gap widens. Easy DIY tune: 5 minutes per side. Wet weather still slows stopping somewhat but performance gap vs dry is much smaller than drum or E-ABS-only systems.

If buying used: ASK SELLER TO CONFIRM FIRMWARE STATE — speed-locked (25 km/h, EU-legal) or unlocked (50 km/h, technically illegal as PLEV). Most enthusiast sellers will have unlocked. Plan to re-lock for daily public-road commute. Unlock is a button combination or app toggle; re-lock is the same procedure.

Verify the exact model on the dashboard: 'VSETT 9+' or 'VSETT 9 Plus' should display on power-up. Counterfeit VSETT clones are rare (less common than Segway/Xiaomi fakes) but exist — verify the holographic sticker on the deck, the QS-S4 display brand, and the XLR-3 charge ports. Genuine units pair with the EV-Max app and show correct serial.

For Baltic performance commute 10-30 km one-way with hills: VSETT 9+ standard (720 Wh, 30-45 km real range single-motor) is the sweet spot. For commute <10 km on flat terrain: consider the cheaper single-motor VSETT 9. For commute >30 km or maximum performance: step up to VSETT 10+ (1280 Wh, 50-70 km range) or Dualtron Mini.

VSETT 9+ has no big-box retail presence in the Baltics. Buy from specialist dealers: scooter.ee, eScooterShop.ee (EE), skuteri.lv, elektroskuteri.lv (LV), elektrinispaspirtukas.lt, motoland.lt (LT). Pros: better technical advice, in-person test rides, faster parts. Cons: smaller dealer network, longer warranty work timelines than Euronics/Senukai.

Used market: ALWAYS ride the scooter before buying. Take it to a small hill (5-10% gradient minimum) and test dual-motor climbing. If the front motor doesn't engage smoothly or feels weak, it may need controller calibration or replacement. Both motors should pull evenly under full throttle.

Budget for consumables: brake pads at 800-1500 km (€15 set, 30-min DIY swap), inner tubes 1-2 per year (€5-10 each), kickstand at 18-24 months (€10-15). Plan ~€50-100/year in consumables for normal commute use, €100-200/year for heavy use.

Tubeless conversion: many 9+ owners convert from tubed to tubeless using rim insert + Slime sealant (€30-50 in materials, 1-2 hour DIY). Reduces flat frequency significantly. Voids OEM tire warranty but most 9+ owners consider it worth it for daily use.

Winter strategy: VSETT 9+ is less weatherproof than Segway G30. If you commute Dec-Feb, accept range loss of 30-50% AND increased risk of controller flicker / electronic faults from melt-water. Many Baltic 9+ owners switch to bikes for winter or use the 9+ for dry-day-only riding.

Theft prevention: VSETT 9+ has no built-in GPS or theft alarm. Add an Apple AirTag, Samsung SmartTag, or Tile under the deck in an adhesive case. Use a heavy-duty U-lock or chain through the folding stem when parking. VSETT scooters are higher-value targets than commuter scooters — never leave unlocked in Tallinn/Riga/Vilnius city centres.

Firmware unlocking (25 km/h → 50 km/h) is technically possible via dashboard button combination or EV-Max app — DO NOT do this for Baltic-registered/used scooter daily public-road commute. Exposes you to fines (€40-150), insurance void in case of accident, possible criminal charges. The 25 km/h speed bump is not worth the legal risk. If you must have access to higher speed, reserve unlocked mode for closed-track / private property use only.

Power-rating compliance is grey-area in Estonia (Liiklusseadus 750 W support limit may or may not apply per-motor or combined). Ride conservatively, keep firmware speed-capped, carry VSETT spec sheet if asked by police. Latvia 2026 OCTA rules may explicitly address higher-power scooters — verify with CSDD.lv before commute.

Serial number: located on dashboard via hidden menu (power+mode buttons), printed on deck underside sticker, and stamped on stem base (some production batches). Cross-reference all three locations on used purchases — counterfeit clones often have mismatched or missing serial encoding.

Performance enthusiast setup: most VSETT 9+ owners add a phone mount (€10-20), aftermarket high-grip tape, deck LED strips (if not standard), tubeless conversion, fast charger (€80-120), and a heavy-duty U-lock. Performance maintenance: pad swap every 800-1500 km, tube/tire check monthly, brake cable tension check every 6 months.

Seadus & registreerimine

All three Baltic states' relationship with high-power scooters like VSETT 9+ is in flux. EU-spec firmware (25 km/h capped) is essential for legal commute use. Unlocked 50 km/h firmware is technically illegal as PLEV in all three states. Several Baltic VSETT owners have been fined €40-150 for unlocked firmware caught during speed checks.
